The Hospital...and the story...

I got my membranes stripped for the second time on thursday, June 21st.....with my girls, it started things going after the second time, so I was hopeful:) We came home and scrubbed the house down, and then went to the mall and walked around for about 3 hours. I was having contractions that were more painful, but nothing consistent. We had dinner at a friends house that evening, and I could tell my contractions were getting harder, but nothing close enough to time, so I decided maybe I would start watching the clock that night when we got home.

I started noticing that they were getting closer together, so I started timing about 10 or 11 pm. They were 10 min apart, some 15...... so I got the laundry clean and folded and then decided that I should try to get some kind of sleep if this was going to happen tonight. I laid down, but each contraction would wake me up. So I got a good half hour of sleep from 1 to 1:30, and then they started to get closer together. About 2 am, they were about 6 min apart, then at 3 am, they were 5 min apart. So I decided it was time to call my dad. While waiting for him to arrive at this early morning hour, they became 3 min apart, and  I could no longer talk or do anything while having them.....Just trying to breathe and roll on my exercise ball....they were getting painful! By the time we got to the hospital, about 4, they were like 1.5 min apart and sooooooo painful. They checked me, I was 5 cm dialated, things were moving along. As they got me set up and as I waited for my epidural, they were still only 1-2 minutes apart and so painful. My whole body would shake like I had the shivers during a contraction and I felt like I was going to vomit, there was just not enough down time inbetween them to relax the tention away and prepare for the next, I was moaning and groaning, and can now tell you that I would be a screamer if I did it natural, because I was getting louder and louder with each contraction! Now at a 6, I finally got my epidural. If I ever contemplated not getting an epidural, I can now say that its just not for me. This is the farthest I've gone with out one and I was at my threshold of pain tolerance! Sooooo grateful for an epidural!!!!! The anesthesiologist was quick and accurate and it worked wonderfully!!!!! I love that they now give you a little button that you can push to get more pain meds, or leave it where it is so you can feel when to push. This way, I felt like I was not overly medicated and could still feel a tingle in my legs and could move my toes and feet, but enough to not feel the pain.
Well, shortly after I got my epidural, I was at a 7 and my water broke! So glad I had my epidural by that time.....ouch! Then about 8-8:30, I was a 10 and they started to prep for pushing!!! I didn't even need pitocin this time, and my water broke on its own, and we cut labor in half from the last time:) (Taya was 36 hrs, Sienna was 18, and Emmett was about 9.)
Emmett came out pretty fast too!!!! His head was facing up, so the doctor had to reach in and try to turn him face down. He came out a little sideways and got a littel bruising on his nose. One contraction, head was crowning, next one head was out, by the next his right shoulder, .......then his left shoulder got stuck behind my pelvis, so the nurses quickly hauled my legs up to behind my ears and bent me in half to straighten out my back bones, and his shoulder popped right out!!!!!! (this quick pop is was torn me a little bit, a level 2, had to get some stitches. First time for that for me- its been the hardest part of recovery, but glad to say its getting much better).
Emmett was born 8:56 am, Friday, June 22nd, 2012.
Coming in at 9lbs, 12 oz and 20.5 inches long.
I still can't believe how big he was!!!! When he came out, all the nurses were giddy about how chubby he was:) My girls were only in the 7 lb this was a big surprise! But so glad he is here, and healthy and out of me!!!!! We can't get enough of him:)

Because he was so big, he had some low blood sugar levels and had to get an IV, and lots of pricks to test his blod sugar level. But by the end of the day, they were balanced out and he was good :)

9 months of a growing baby belly!

Third Trimester: Final month!!!!!!!!!! (or partial month!)

Well, I 'm past 39 weeks now, and if this baby doesn't come this weekend, then I'm being induced on Monday!!! Yeeehaaaaa! Here we go!!!

At 36 weeks:
Dilated to 2 cm, 80% effaced!!! Dr. Berry said his head was way down in the birth canal!!!!! All good things!!!! The end is in sight!!!!!

I have never been so hot in all my life!!!!!! I'm so hot and so sweaty! I sleep with the fan on and no covers. Our house is set to 68* and I still am uncomfortable! I have fans on me all day long, and all I want to do is take a cold shower!!!!!! So glad I  don't have to go through the whole summer being pregnant!!!! Whew!!!

I've started to get very nauseous, and have been taking phenegran again.....but can already feel it making my legs go crazy......ahhhhhhhh, hope this isn't much longer!!! I also got very sick at the beginning of this month.....a stomach bug of some sort, not the throw up kind, but the other end..if you know what I mean!?!? It was terrible and lasted almost 4 days. Anyway, it really helped get rid of a lot of the water my body was holding on to, and I got to see my REAL ANKLES .......they are so pretty when they are not swollen with water, and I really missed them. I forgot what they REALLY looked like, because even when I thought they weren't swollen- they were, because the way they look now, is even better!!!!!  Can't wait for all that water to be gone for good!!!:)

37 weeks:
Didn't get checked, but everything is pretty much the same......i just keep on growing! Still nauseous at night after dinner!!!!!

38 weeks:
Still at 2 cm. Dr. Berry stripped my membranes......maybe that will get things going.....but I still feel like it will be a week. My hands are falling asleep a lot at night these days.....very annoying, just another thing to keep me from getting a good night's sleep! And heartburn is back.......waking me up at night. Just so uncomfortable!!!! Can we be done yet! Had lots of contractions that night and the next day, but they turned into nothing:(

Painted my toe nails for the last time this week.......that was a task in of itself!!! This was a chubby feet day:( Lots of water retention!!!

39 weeks:
I'm almost dilated to a 4!!!!! That's the most I've ever been dilated before real labor starts......usually I'm like a 1 or 2 and it takes me hours of labor just to get to a 4, so at least I have a little head start! Glad to know these contractions are doing something:) I had some really painful contractions that woke me up last night......but once again, they turned into nothing! I even tried my breastpump this past week, totally gave me contractions every 3 minutes, but as soon as I turned it off, they stopped 5 minutes later:( Had the doctor strip my membranes again today. Then we cleaned the house, and are going to go walk around the mall......maybe it will help do something.....but if not, at least I only have 4 days at the most to suffer through!

This is the only comfortable thing to sit on in my house! Plus it helps the baby drop:) It's my friend!

I'm so sick of cleaning my house.....and it is getting SOOOOO difficult. I've contracted some little helpers:) They do a good job!

They even wake me up telling me they have a surprise, and the whole basket of clothes is folded:)

They also rub my feet......and they do all this for free:) What a lucky mom I am!

Happy Father's Day!

Taya came into our room at 7:30 to wake me up and remind me that I needed to get up because we needed to make daddy breakfast:) So we got up and made him some food and cards!

We went to church and Daddy got lots of treats from the ward and both the girls from their classes. Daddy got new shorts to increase his supply from our whole stash getting lost in the move last year!
Then for dinner we ate Pot Roast with carrots and potatoes and salad and topped off the night with brownie sundaes and homemade hot fudge:) YUmmy!
We love our daddy, don't know what we would do without him!
